Introducing "Wipe-Out Gremlin" Its not often you have an opportunity to hold a slice of surfing history in your hands. Its easy to picture a young artist by the name of Rick Griffin sketching this Murphy-type character. This was likely a piece of camera-ready art used in a promotional piece for The Challenger's Band. Rick did a number of pieces for the Challengers in the early 60s. This original pen-and-ink drawing by Rick Griffin is in very good condition, at least 85% mint. some yellowing has occurred. Two pieces of linen tape at top edge of reverse side. Otherwise very light ear. Visible handwriting impressions on the reverse side from Rick's pen. No tack holes, tears or creases. No water damage of any kind. Measures 8 X 10 inches. Packaged in archival quality packaging. Guaranteed original and authentic. This item comes from the Pat Magee collection.
